Each week I will offer a different art enrichment activity on this web page.
You can share your creations and also add positive feedback to your classmates on Google Classroom. Lets keep the conversation going.

This weeks Art Enrichment is inspired by Georgia O'keefe - Summer is just about here, get outside and keep creating
With the summer flowers starting to bloom, Mrs. Shuty started thinking about famous American Artist Georgia O'Keefe. She is most famous for her close-up paintings of flowers. Check out this fun video I found on Youtube to learn more about this amazing artist!
Become a photographer this Summer!!! Here are some pictures I took of the flowers in my yard and in the woods near my house.
Artists sometimes draw from observation (drawing what you see). Instead of taking pictures you could also set up in nature and draw what you see first hand or draw by observing the pictures you took.
Get outside this Summer and keep creating!!!
Search the local creek banks to find clay and create something!!
Create art with things you find in nature!!!
Have a wonderful Summer!!!

Careers in Art - This weeks Art Enrichment is inspired by Art Teachers.
This week we are becoming Art Teachers!!! I want you to show the process of how to make something. Below you can watch a video on how to do this using Google Slides.
Grade K-2 if you would like to simply draw how to make something step by step or do your own video of how to make something you may do that. Also, feel free to draw your own Dancing Cow, Dancing Pig, or make your own Mouse out of clay!! These are all shown in my demonstrations :)
I hope to see some awesome tutorials that we can share with everyone!!
There are a few ways for you to make a tutorial and 'Become a Teacher'. You can add the images of your steps on to one slide. This is the beginner level. You don't add any words, just add your photos.
Level 2:You will add your images and text (or words). This will show the deeper thinking of how you would explain how to make Art to another person both with visuals (pictures) and words.
Level 3: You can 'duplicate' the slides changing the position and location of your images, writing words, and adding 'extras' like frames around your images, clip art, arrows, additional text.
Become an Illustrator this week and illustrate a joke!!! Have fun!!!
What is an Illustrator??
An illustrator is an artist who draws the pictures in a book. Some children's book authors are also illustrators. Picture books have to be well-written and well-illustrated: it's up to an illustrator to interpret the story through pictures (or illustrations).
Check out this video on Mark Buehner to see how he became an Illustrator. Most of you are familiar with his work in the book "Snowmen at Night".
Even if your working on something else independently share it!! I'm enjoying hearing from you all :)

Cardboard Challenge for grades K - 5
Right now, many of us are finding ourselves with both an over-abundance of time at home (from practicing good social distancing) and an over-abundance of cardboard boxes (from all those deliveries). I was inspired by the Cardboard Challenge story, and would now like to challenge all of you to use both of these resources and make something new - re-use boxes or other recycled materials (like toilet paper rolls, egg crates, empty hand sanitizer bottles, etc.) to create a sculpture, arcade game, or anything you like.
Check out Caine's Arcade on You Tube to see how the Global Cardboard challenge began and to get inspired.
