Federal Programs

The Slippery Rock Area School District receives federal funding to support a variety of programs which are listed below:

Title I - these funds are designed to assist students in meeting state content and performance standards. Both elementary schools, Moraine Elementary and Slippery Rock Area Elementary are designated as Targeted Assistance schools.  Students in these buildings are eligible for Title I support via programs and activities necessary to provide a well-rounded education designed to help eligible students meet state academic standards.  Please see each elementary school's webpage for more information.

Title II, Part A - these funds are intended to improve the skills of teachers and the quality of instruction in core academic subjects.  The District utilizes these funds to decrease class size in the elementary.

Title III - these funds are intended to support language instruction educational programs for students who have a primary language other than English.  The District is part of a consortium to provide these services.

Title IV - these funds are designated to provide students with access to a well-rounded education.  Under the transferability authority, the District transfers these funds to support Title II, Part A activities.
